liCNC National Basket Photo (2013)

On behalf of the NCA, I want to thank Colonial Newfoundland Club for donating a great basket for raffle at this year's National Specialty. Fourteen clubs provided baskets which were on display all week in the Hospitality area. There was a huge response among members in purchasing raffle tickets and the event was a great success in raising money in support of NCA charities. Please express our gratitude to members of your club who donated items for your basket. Without the generous support of individuals from our Regional Clubs, this great event would not be possible. We really appreciate everyone's generosity.

    • Newfoundland Rescue
One of the most important of the club's activities is rescuing unwanted or abandoned Newfs. When a club member is made aware of a Newfoundland in need, rescue operations immediately begin. The dog is brought into the club's fold, placed in a foster home, given any required veterinary care, and evaluated for temperament and socialization. If the dog is adoptable, the search for a new family begins. This is a great way to acquire a Newf that will be eternally grateful for his new home

    • Newf Rescue Foster Homes Needed
Between the time a Newfoundland Dog is taken into the rescue program and the time it goes to its forever home, the dog is cared for in a foster home. CNC is looking for more volunteer club members to provide foster care to these dogs in need. Please click here for more information on volunteering. If you can help and you are a member in good standing of CNC, please contact one of our Rescue Co-Chairs:

Please note that, due to club liability insurance constraints, the CNC Board of Directors has established a policy that only CNC members in good standing may foster dogs in the CNC rescue program.

      Non-Member Participation in CNC Events
Non-members are invited to our Spring and Fall Fun Days as a way to get to know members of the club before joining. Non-members are also welcome to attend any of our events as spectators, respecting the boundaries of the event and staying well back from them especially if they are accompanied by their dogs. Unfortunately, the cost and terms of our insurance have caused us to limit participation in events other than the Fun Days to members of CNC or other NCA regional clubs.

If you are not a member of CNC or another NCA regional club and you want to participate in club activities other than the Fun Days, please contact Judy Van Dyke to get a membership application form or to ask questions about membership in our club. We hope you'll join!
