A call for help!
|
It feels
great to help a Newf-in-Need, and even better to be part
of a happy ending for a rehomed Newfoundland.
There is much to be done because in a twinkling CNC
Rescue can be called upon to mobilize, and you are
needed to make it work throughout our club’s region!
So… here’s my list. Pick one, pick them all, but please
pick something—just think of the Newf whose world is
turning upside down, and that you have the ability to
help make it come ‘round right!
Visit a Humane Society/SPCA or kennel or pet store
(taking digital photos if necessary)?
Foster (at least two weeks?) in preparation for a
permanent placement with one of our adoption applicants?
(temperament evaluation is crucial!). Insurance issues
require foster parents to be members of CNC.
Be part of a relay using a Newf baton?
Assist w/getting a Newf to a veterinarian? (Actually,
would you be willing to ask your veterinarian about
providing discounted care and services for CNC Rescues?)
Anything else?
Ready? Great. Please e-mail your choice(s) to me and I
will keep you posted about your important contribution
to the CNC Rescue NewfWork.
Thank you kindly,
Dotty Hudson

Other ways you can help
|
Please note that insurance issues require that only
CNC members in good standing work hands-on with our rescue
Newfs.
FOSTER HOME- are you able to be able to house
and care for a Newf from 30 days to many months,
depending on how long it take to find adopters. (You
must be a member of CNC in order to foster a rescue Newf.)
KENNEL HELP- feeding, changing bedding, poop
scooping, disinfecting floors etc.
GROOMING- brushing and combing out, bathing,
trimming, toe nails, etc. instructions are available
TRAINING/SOCIALIZING- if you can do some basic
obedience training this would be great, but we also need
people (adults and children) to just interact with the
dogs.
TRANSPORTATION- are you able to pick up dogs that
need to go to holding homes and deliver them,
transportation to Vets, taking dogs from point A to
point B so someone else can go to point C, etc.

suggestions for improvements when needed. We'll train
you.

where Newfs have been turned in so we can rescue them.

and web sites for

our help

and notify the club if they are selling Newfs.
